Hotel BI Dashboards: Turning Booking Data into Decisions
Build more meaningful reporting from reservations, revenue, source markets and advertising signals.
What a useful dashboard should answer
A good hotel marketing dashboard helps commercial teams answer concrete questions: Which markets are producing bookings? Which campaigns are associated with revenue? How far ahead do guests book? What mix of stay lengths is emerging? Keep the most important metrics easy to find and explain how each is calculated.
Connect information carefully
Different advertising, analytics and booking systems refresh on different schedules. Source values may use different currencies, attribution windows or timezone assumptions. Data reconciliation and documentation are important; the visual design alone cannot correct inconsistent inputs.
Read metrics as a connected story
Booking counts without booking value can hide shifts in guest mix. Revenue without booking dates can conceal future demand changes. Compare market, channel, lead time, room nights and length of stay together, using filters that keep cohorts consistent.
Avoid misleading “real-time” claims
Data freshness varies by integration. Clearly label whether reports are refreshed daily, hourly or at another validated interval, and whether any figures are illustrative. Media Console has a public BI demonstration; the exact client reporting configuration and refresh frequency require confirmation for each engagement.
Translate insight into action
Dashboards are useful when teams connect observations to decisions. Review which source markets are strengthening, whether target stay dates need support, and where budgets may be inefficient. Follow up with controlled changes and monitor the next comparable reporting period.
